Our Story
Koinonia Community Solutions (KCS) was founded in 2014 by Bishop Rosie S. O’neal and launched through the vision and generosity of the Koinonia Christian Center Church (KCC). What began as a community-based ministry initiative has grown into a mission-driven, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, advancing housing stability, economic mobility, youth education, and systems-level change.
We are proudly legacy-inspired, shaped by the founding values of service, dignity, and empowerment - principles that continue to guide how we lead, how we serve, and how we show up for community.
While rooted in this legacy, our programs and partnerships are open to all, and grounded in shared values of trust, care, and belonging.

Our Mission
Building bridges of opportunity to the underserved in northeastern North Carolina through education, housing, and economic empowerment initiatives.
Our Vision
We envision a world where no person is left behind and every community has opportunity for advancement and fulfillment. We believe access to opportunity is the fundamental right of every person.

Our Core Values
Dignity at the Center
We honor the humanity, voice, and lived experience of each person.
Respect is the foundation of how we serve, how we lead, and how we relate - to our community and to one another.
Integrity with Intention
We approach our work with clarity, discipline, and intentional stewardship of trust, time, and resources.
We are accountable for how we invest - pursuing results that reflect care, consistency, and community trust.
Mission-Driven Innovation
We believe bold ideas and steady persistence can lead to real change.
With courage and collaboration, we design solutions shaped by the voices and needs of the community.
Impact that Matters
We work toward outcomes that contribute to the vibrancy of the communities we serve.
We aim for collective growth grounded in clarity, strategy, and shared commitment.

What We Do
At Koinonia, we walk alongside youth, adults, and families to open real pathways in youth development, economic mobility, and housing—meeting immediate needs while shifting how systems show up for the communities they serve. Grounded in dignity, innovation, integrity, and impact, our work builds bridges across silos so people don’t just access support—they navigate it with confidence and care.

Our Legacy, Our Future
From our beginnings as a ministry-inspired vision to our work today as an independent, values-driven nonprofit, KCS remains grounded in purpose, shaped by legacy, and committed to creating conditions where individuals, families, and communities can thrive.
We are proud to be legacy-inspired, community-anchored, and future-focused - working every day toward a world where all people have what they need to flourish.
